Combat Martial Arts

CMA Ryu (Combat Martial Arts School) has grown out of the Kempo Kan Ju-Jitsu club started by Shihan Dave Court (Godan) back in 2002 in South Manchester. Shihan Court has 40+yrs experience in studying various Martial Art systems, such as Contact Karate, Fung Shao Kung Fu, Wado Ryu Karate, Goshin Kai Aikido, Alicaway Combat Knife System, JKD Concepts & Kali, Kempo Ju-Jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts, traditional Japanese weapons and Traditional Judo.

         Shihan Court’s aim is to provide his students with training and skills that will aid them in throughout their lives, from school, home or work to a real life combat or self-defence situation. The techniques are designed to work based on skill and knowledge, thus removing any discrepancy based on an opponents’ size or strength. Shihan Court tends to teach techniques that are simple and effective rather than flashy or complicated.
